Guest Artist, Opening Exhibition 2008
Bob was born in Nigeria, and travelled all over England before finally settling in Nottingham. A self-taught artist Bob has received commissions from Europe and the USA, and his drawings of Utility dogs have been published by “Clean Run” magazine in the USA. In 2001 he founded the UK Coloured Pencil Society, which now boasts over 500 members world-wide.
Bob has illustrated books for Nancy Furstinger and Margrit Coates, as well as writing articles for some of the major Art magazines (Artist & Illustrators, Paint and Leisure Painter).
Bob describes his work as “quite graphic, colourful and with a quirky sense of humour”. We are delighted to be exhibiting some of Bob's work, including “Red Onions” which was a winner of the Derwent Award in the 2007 Artist/Leisure Painter competition.
