Summer 2009 Workshops
The First Floor Gallery is holding a selection of one day workshops with established Suffolk-based Artists, offering people the opportunity to obtain professional tuition in an inspiring and friendly environment. A varied range of subjects, medium and styles can be experienced.
Saturday 18th July 10am - 4pm £55.00
Painting a sunset in soft pastel with Elaine Dodsworth is the third in a series tutored by Elaine, using this wonderful, versatile and forgiving medium.
Use of tonal colour brings a restful quality to Elaine’s work, ideal for capturing the perfect sunset. Elaine’s previous workshops have proved to be very popular, so early booking is recommended.
All materials are provided for the day, and you can take them away with you!

Life drawing with portrait artist John Glover is an opportunity to experience the satisfaction of drawing and painting the human form, under John’s expert tuition.
With a live model provided for the day, express yourself through pencil and charcoal mediums supplied by the Gallery, or bring along your own choice of medium to produce a variety of exciting studies.

Painting landscapes in oils and acrylics with artist Cyndi Speer gives you an opportunity to crate ‘an image that suggests a story’.
Cyndi observes various landscapes and adapts them to her own perception with colours and patterns a defining feature, together with a distortion of perspective.
All materials are provided for the day, and you can take them away with you.
Saturday 17th October 10am - 4pm £55.00 - Landscapes in Oil Pastels with Gillian Crossley-Holland
Landscapes and trees are a passion for Gillian Crossley-Holland. In this workshop, discover the under used but incredibly expressive and rich medium of Oil Pastels.
All materials are provided for the day, and you can take them away with you.
10% discount if you book 2 or more workshops.
